Glamour Magazine & Nails Inc Offer

It’s that time of year again when Glamour mag teams up with Nails Inc to offer a choice of 4 nail polishes free with each magazine. As Nail Inc polishes usually retail for about £11 this is a bargain too good to miss!

I’ve picked up Victoria which is a deep plum shade however also available are Tate ( bright red), Piccadilly Circus (Plum) and Basil Street (Beige). I think I’m going to have to try this polish out with a splash of Rainbow Connection.

The red and plum shades are perfect for the party season and a must for anyone after a bargain! I also have my eye on Basil Street which looks like such as easy to wear nude beige.

Madara Lipgloss

I’m a sucker for lip glosses or lip balms and definitely believe you can never have too many! I have so many different shades from the  brightest of colours all the way through to the everyday neutrals. I don’t tend to wear lipstick or even bright lip colours day to day so instead you’ll usually find with a couple of nude lip balms or glosses in my hand bag.

I’ve been trying out one of the new tinted lip gloss* from Madara in moonkissed which I thought was a pinky/rose shade however in reality I’d say it was more of a pinky shade with an orange edge too it. Still very neutral as it just gives that hint of colour to your lips.

I’m not sure if I’d call this a balm or gloss as it’s somewhere between the two but it lasts well on your lips to give a glossy appearance whilst still moisturising them which is handy as my lips are getting so dry as the weather gets chillier! Madara tinted lip glosses are available for £9.90 from the Madara website.

NOTD: Peach Smoothie by Revlon

After having bright nails for the past few weeks I fancied wearing something a little more neutral so thought it the perfect opportunity to try another from Revlon’s scented collection.

Peach Smoothie is a nude beige colour with tiny flecks of iridescent sparkle. It applies easily enough though did require three coats to achieve an opaque finish. I’ve had this on my nails for three days now and with a top coat there is barely any wear on the tips.

In terms of the scent aspect there is a slight fragrance to my nails though I think it’s the colour which sells this polish rather than the gimmicky scent aspect. The nail polishes are priced around £6.49 from Boot’s and Superdrug.

Revlon Scented Nail Polish

Posted by Laura | NOTD,Nail polish | Sunday 5 June 2011 9:26 pm

Earlier this year Revlon introduced a new range of eight scented nails polishes in a variety of shades. I know I’m probably a little late to the party with this post as these polishes have been around for a few months now but I thought them still worth a mention!

I’ve been sent four of the range to try out which are Mad about Mango (orangey/terracotta), Beach (greeny yellow), Peach Smoothie (nude) and Passionfruit (purple). I’m not too sure how the green colour will look but the rest of the range certainly looks wearable.

I’ve only managed to swatched Mad about Mango so far however I promise I will get around to the rest very soon! I picked Mad about Mango first as the orangey shade is such a summery colour which was perfect for the weather we had on Friday. This picture is 3 coats and gives a nice, even streak free finish.

Application was easy and once the polish has tried it does live up to the claims of being scented. I’ve got to say I think the scented aspect is a little gimmicky as you don’t exactly walk around sniffing your nails however the colours in the range are enough to make want to buy them anyway! I do have my eye on the blue shade from the range called Ocean Breeze which I think will look lovely on. The scented nail polish is available for £6.49 from many stores.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick Delicate Pearl

Posted by Laura | Beauty Tips | Wednesday 11 May 2011 8:00 am

I’m slowly trying to build up my lipstick collection and I have a few of the lipsticks already from Maybelline Colour Sensational range but when I saw this one in Tesco for only £1.47 I just had to pick it up as they are usually about £7.19.

The Colour Sensational range tend to be quite sheer lipsticks, almost a little more glossy which them very wearable if your not used to wearing strong colour lipstick. Delicate pearl I would say is  nude lipstick with a very pearly finish.

As with the other’s I own from the range it glides easily onto the lips and feels quite moisturising when your wearing it. I find it tends to last only a couple of hours but many of the lipsticks which such a sheer finish tend to be the same. The colour I think is perfect for teaming with smokey eyes in the evening but can also be used during the day to add a splash of colour to my face.

As i did pick this up for £1.47 I’m not sure if that means this colour is being discontinued however if you can find this in Tesco’s I would definitely recommend picking it up!
