I have already done a post on MoroccanOil which you can read here however I thought it well worth another mention as it is definitely my favourite product from 2011. Since discovering MoroccanOil my hair feels so much softer and more manageable. My dry, split ends have practically vanished and I’m finding I can easily go at least 4 months before the ends of my hair even look as though they need a trim.

I’ve just picked up another 100ml bottle up for £28.50 from Amazon which could seem a little pricey however my previous 100ml bottle lasted my 8 months which I think represents really good value for money. I tend to use this every other day and my hair is long and dry so I don’t scrimp on the amount I use so when you consider this costs me £3.50 a month then it certainly seems like a bargain!

Crabtree & Evelyn is one of those luxury brands who seems to have a range of lovely gift sets available each Christmas. I’ve been trying out a Pomegranate Body Scrub which also contains argan oil and grapeseed. As it’s getting wintery now and I’ve stopped using fake tan I don’t tend to use my body scrubs quite as much however ever now and then it’s nice to properly treat my skin.

The scrub has a creamy texture with very fine granules (about the size of table salt). It’s a lot more nourishing for my skin than scrubs with a shower gel type base as it gently scrubs away any dead skin without leaving me feeling dry. I think the argan oil properly helps to rehydrate my skin as I know how amazing that stuff is for my hair!

The Pomegranate scrub is vailable from Crabtree & Evelyn for £15 for 175ml and there are also some great ideas for Christmas gifts on the website!

*pr sample – views are my own

I seem to have teeth which get stained so easily no matter how carefully I clean them. I don’t even think I drink much coffee, tea or red wine which are the usual culprits for stains. A few years ago for my wedding I had my teeth whitened by my dentist to give me a lovely pearly smile for my wedding pictures however I think the effect has now well and truly worn off! (or my teeth have just become stained again which is the more likely option).

I was recently given the chance to try a teeth whitening kit for Mint Cosmetics which my teeth are in definite need of! I’ve only just received the kit so I just wanted to do a quick post about what the kit contains as they are currently half price online. I’ll follow this up in a few weeks with some before and after pictures to let you know how the kit works for me.

The kit comes in lovely black box and inside you receive 3 mouth trays in a holder along with 4 syringes of 6% hydrogen peroxide. The syringes contain approximately 48 applications which is hopefully enough to achieve the desired finish. The Mint Cosmetic website has a lot of information on how to use the kit but once I’ve given this a proper try I’ll include my thoughts on application.

The kit actually reminds me a lot of the kit I got from my dentist to whiten my teeth, the only difference being the dentist takes moulds of your teeth and has the mouth trays made. I think I paid about £350 to get my teeth whitened by my dentist where as this kit is usually £124.99 (which includes teeth whitening pen) however at the minute it can be purchased for £69.9 direct from Mint Cosmetics.

I’m going to have a go at mould the mouth trays tonight so That I can start the teeth whitening process. I shall make sure I take plenty of before and after pictures and will post again in a few weeks to let you know how I get on.

I must admit I don’t often tend to write really negative reviews as a product may not be for me but there are usually some redeeming features where you could see it suiting someone else. Unfortunately with this Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Curls Creme it just didn’t live up to the claims or possibly my expectations.

My hair is quite wavy and is some places I get ringlets however to achieve a natural all over curl I do need a little bit of help with some products. My hair used to be quite dry and hard to control but with regular use of MoroccanOil my hair is in such better condition and when I leave it to dry naturally it looks quite pretty though the curls drop quite quickly. Hence where a curl product comes in!

I used a small blob on damp hair and then twisted sections to allow it dry naturally. My hope for this was to just help my curls to last longer before falling out and if it worked really well to maybe give me a little extra curl. Unfortunately all I found was that I ended up with quite crispy, dry hair. Even my natural waves and ringlets didn’t really show through and my hair more resembled that of a scarecrow!

I’d picked this up for about £5 in Boots but its not something I shall be buying again. I can usually find some good points in a product but even for girls with really curl hair I fail to see making your hair feel crispy and dry will help the curls stay put.

I love the cocoa butter moisturisers from Palmer’s and quite a few of the other products from their range so when I found out they had launched a new daily facial range I couldn’t wait to give a few of the products ago. As I’ve fallen in love with my facial balm I’ve been trying out a few of the Palmer’s products alongside it, the facial scrub* and night cream*.

The facial scrub contains very finely crushed cocoa beans which very gently scrub away any dry or dull skin. I’ve been using this a couple of times a week just to help brighten up my skin when it starts looking a little. It’s really gentle to use and leaves my skin feeling so soft. I find I need a little extra moisturiser after using it however that probably helps improve my skin as well.

The second item is the night renewal cream which is quite a thick moisturiser but it’s easily absorbed into my skin. This is an anti-aging cream so obviously I can’t comment on those long term claims however it does seem to be doing wonders on some of the dry little patches I get. I find that some thick, night creams can break me out a little as they seem to clog my pores but this cream really suits my skin. The cream doesn;t have the usual cocoa butter scent which is a shame however it does still have a nice fresh fragrance (lily I think from the product info).

The facial scrub is £5.95 and the night renewal cream is only £6.95 which I think is very reasonable. If you love the Palmer’s body care range then I think the facial range is well worth a look.

*pr sample
