Glamour Magazine & Nails Inc Offer

It’s that time of year again when Glamour mag teams up with Nails Inc to offer a choice of 4 nail polishes free with each magazine. As Nail Inc polishes usually retail for about £11 this is a bargain too good to miss!

I’ve picked up Victoria which is a deep plum shade however also available are Tate ( bright red), Piccadilly Circus (Plum) and Basil Street (Beige). I think I’m going to have to try this polish out with a splash of Rainbow Connection.

The red and plum shades are perfect for the party season and a must for anyone after a bargain! I also have my eye on Basil Street which looks like such as easy to wear nude beige.

More 3 for 2 Boots Baragins

I popped into Boots on Saturday hoping to find the new 17 magnetised nail polishes though unfortunately there only seemed to be the product info and no actual nail polishes! However I couldn’t fail to notice the 3 for 2 offer across all the makeup ranges so I had to pick myself up a few new items.

I’ve fancied buying a nail art pen for a couple of weeks now so when I spotted this pen from Models Own for £6 I thought I might as well try it. I’ll do a proper review with some NOTD soon after I’ve tried experimenting with it. I love my Mirror Shine lipstick from 17 in Beehive so I’ve also picked up another 2 shades, Flirtini and Belle which were £4.59 each. With my 3 for 2 it means I picked up the second lipstick for free!

Scarlett&Crimson Eyebrow Kit

Now I know these products clearly aren’t aimed at my age group but the brightly coloured packaging caught my eye and as it’s not going to be that long till Christmas (I know, some how getting to winter already) I thought I might have a peak with the view to pressie’s for teenagers in mind.

Scarlett & Crimson is a new range launched back at the beginning of the year from the ladies behind Ruby and Millie. The characters on the packaging are clearly teenage inspired but then when I was a teenager I could probably have done with someone buying me a eyebrow kit* to tame my unruly brows!

The kit contains all you need to preen those brows plus three handy templates to give you an idea of how to shape your brows. My eyebrows are a little too skinny for the templates but I imagine when I was younger and my brows more bushy these would work well. The kit also contains a grey eyeliner and clear mascara to elp enhance your eyes.

Overall I think if your looking for pressies for a teenage girl or stocking fillers then these little kits make a fun gift. There are other sets available and with the bright packaging hey are certainly worth a look.

Nair Silky Sensations

Posted by Laura | Body,Random,Toiletries | Sunday 7 August 2011 8:00 am

I always tend to shave my legs as I find it quick and easy when your in the shower and gives my conditioner a chance to work some magic in my hair. I’ve always thought hair remover’s seemed like a lot of effort to use however I had thought they probably leave the hairs on your legs not quite so stubbly when it starts to regrow.

For me the saving a few seconds using shaving my legs has always been worth the price of needing to shave them most days to keep on top of any regrowth. I’ve been sent a couple of the Nair Silky Sensation hair remover’s* to try so I thought with this summery weather it would be a good chance to see if they work any better.

There are two different formulations, the red pomegranate version which takes 3 minutes and the green kiwi version for sensitive skins which takes 4 minutes. The different times ocnfused me a little at first and then I realsied the green was for sensitive skins which is probably why it takes a little longer.

I’ve tend to apply these before jumping in the shower and both seem to stay in place even with the shower on full blast. My skin can be a little sensitive so I’ve been using the green version but even with that after it’s been on my legs only a minute or so they start to feel like they are burning a little.

My legs tend to be very dry which is probably why this seems to irritate them a little. It takes the full 4 minutes to remove leg hair and a little longer I found if I did under my arms. Overall I think I’ll probably stick to my shaving as I wasn’t massively keen on the scent of the creams or the fact they irritated my skin.

Nair silky sensations are available from Boots for £6.99 for 200ml.

Another Primark Baragin

Posted by Laura | Fashion,Random | Saturday 28 May 2011 8:00 am

After my success in Primark the other week I couldn’t resist popping in again to see if they had anything new. I didn’t manage to find any clothes but I did pick up this cream satchel bag for only £6.

I often find the bags in Primark feel a little plasticy but this feels like a very soft leather. I’m guessing it’s not but feeling and looking like leather is enough for me particularly for the price I paid! I also think the pattern on the front helps make it look a little more expensive than it was.

With my little boy it can sometimes be difficult carrying him and one of my big hand bags so this cross body style is perfect and the light cream colour is likely to go with a lot of my summer looks.
