glam princessI haven’t had much of an opportunity to write many posts over the Christmas period with a little baby and the usual festive celebrations! So now its January and we have a lot of cold, dark days I’ve been searching for some new products to brighten up the month.

For my first review of the new year I’ve being trying the new fragrance from Vera Wang, Glam Princess. As you will know from my previous posts I’ve always been a fan of the original Princess fragrance and always have a bottle on the go so I couldn’t resist trying this new limited edition version of the fragrance.

Glam Princess has some of the same notes as the original Princess fragrance including guava and vanilla. However this new scent has been updated with red berries, pear, orange blossom, marshmallow and cashmere wood to give a very glam, flirty fragrance. If you’re a fan of the original Princess fragrance I would definitely recommend trying this one.

Lush Christmas Crackers

Lush christmas‘Tis’ the season for new products and Lush have not let us down with their Christmas range. I stopped over at one of their stores today to treat myself to a few pampering products to use before the baby arrives and I couldn’t resist having a good nosey around the Christmas products!

I’m loving the Colour me Christmas gift set shown which looks like a cute little ginger bread house. At only £14.5 its a great bargain and would make a perfect Christmas present. Whilst I couldn’t justify buying the whole gift set for myself I did indulge in a few of the products from the range.

As I probably won’t have much time for long baths after the little one arrives I treated myself to the candy cane bubble bar which smells like a combination of candyfloss and vanilla icing. Almost good enough to eat and it creates loads of bubbles for a perfect bubble bath! I’ve also bought the cinders bath bomb which is also from the Christmas range and smells like a Christmas drink with cinnamon and orange.

Love Etc… from The Body Shop

Love Etc...Love Etc… is the brand new fragrance launched recently by The Body Shop. I’d been meaning to stop by the shop to try it for a while and today I finally got the chance now that I’m a lady of leisure on maternity leave. Well until the little one arrives at least!

Love Etc… is a very pretty and feminine fragrance which has top notes of pear, bergamot, jasmine and lily of the valley which gives the initial fragrance which is slightly floral but with a sweet undertone. This quickly mellows to allow the base notes of vanilla, sandalwood and musk to show through which leaves a very sweet, feminine fragrance which lingers on the skin for the rest of the day.

I really like this fragrance  as it reminds me of some of my other perfumes such as Princess by Vera Wang and Angel by Thierry Mugler. Being from The Body Shop it is fab value for an eau de parfum and the fragrance is still strong at the end of the day.

On a different note I was also very interested to discover that The Body Shop has its own baby range, Buriti Baby which is an all natural paediatrician approved range of products designed especially for your little one’s sensitive skin. I’ve been given a couple of samples of the Buriti Baby Body Butter which is meant to provide gentle moisturisation for wriggly babies. I’ll let you know what its like when the little one finally arrives!

Ricci Ricci by Nina Ricci

ricci ricciI have been eyeing up the new Marc Jacobs Lola fragrance as its being advertised everywhere at the minute and I love the purple bottle with the huge colourful flower. Unfortunately when I tried the perfume yesterday the scent is too flowery for my tastes.

Lola has heart notes of rose, fuchsia, poeny and geranium which gives a modern floral fragrance rather than the sort of floral fragrance your granny would wear! If you love Marc Jacobs other fragrances such as Daisy then this perfume is definately for you.

Anyhow onto the real reason for my post; Ricci Ricci the new fragrance from Nina Ricci which I discovered whilst having a look round the perfume shop yesterday! Now this fragrance is definately up my street and also comes in a very pretty pink bottle with a cute bow.

Ricci Ricci is also classified as a floral fragrance but I think it has a more glamerous, sensual scent rather than an over the top flowery one. Its the sort of fragrance that you would wear for a night out or a hot date. The heart notes are rose and moonflower which gives the floral edge however these quickly settle to reveal the more sensual scent of patchouli and sandalwood which gives that more grown-up, glamourous feel. It reminds me of Deep Night by Ghost or Hugo Deep Red so if those are the types of fragrances you like then Ricci Ricci is defintely worth a try.

Lush Massage Bars

lush-massage-bar1Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar is one of the lovely new products available from Lush. At the minute in store you get this massage bar for free when you spend over £20. I’ve always liked the massage bars from Lush and they give you the perfect excuse to get your partner to give you a massage after a long day at work. The massage bars also work well as body moisturisers and hand or nail oil to name but a few uses.

Strawberry feels forever unsurprisingly smells of strawberry as it does contain fresh strawberries! Its very reminiscent of fruit sundaes with loads of cream and smells good enough to eat. It also contains cocoa butter and shea butter which make it very nourishing for the skin. It works wonders on very dry areas such as your feet and after using it it leaves a lovely scent.
