Another Accessorize Haul!

I think I’m addicted to Accessorize makeup, the packaging is just so pretty and of course the fact Superdrug was doing a 3 for 2 helped convince me I need to add a few more items to my collection! My favourite blushers at the minute come from the Accessorize range so I couldn’t resist picking up one more and I thought I’d give couple of eye shadows a try as well.

The blusher is a gorgeous bright pink shade with hints of lilac running through it called Wowzer from their merged baked blusher range. The two eye shadows are Sage, a moss green with a shimmer and Champagne a pearly gold shimmer shade. As you can see I had a little accident a dropped my Champagne eye shadow on the floor which is unfortunate as I love the colour!

I hope the swatches show the intensity of the shades as they are all highly pigmented and well worth the price. The blusher I have been using nearly everyday since I bought it and the Champagne eye shadow though a little broken has still been used an awful lot as a neutral everyday eye shadow. Accessorize eye shadows are only £4 and the blushers £5.50 which makes it all the more tempting to pop back and pick up more.

Favourite Makeup Products Summer 2011

My favourite beauty product has got too be my makeup collection! I really struggled to limit my choice to just a few items as I have some many bits of makeup I use quite regularly so I just chosen the makeup which makes up my everyday routine.

1. Lanolips Rose: I use these lanolips nearly everyday to keep my lips soft and I love this pinky shade which just adds a hint of colour to my lips.

2. PoiseTint: This is the first cheek stain I’ve tried and it gives me a lovely rosey glow. It lasts so much longer than all my blushers as it still seems to be in place at the end of the day.

3. MAC Satin Taupe Eye Shadow: Satin Taupe is the perfect eyeshadow for creating a bit of definition for your eyes by blending it along the crease. Alternatively it makes a great smokey eye all over the lid for an evening look.

4. Bourjois Eye Shadow Shade 8: This gives a pale, gold shimmer to the eyelids which is just enough to brighten your eyes. I think I’ll have to be picking up another pot very soon.

5. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha: This is a bronze shimmer which I can use as either an eyeliner or as an overall colour. I quite like using a splash under my low eyelashes to give my eye’s a little bit of definition.

6. Inika Eye Liner in Graphite: This is a recently addition to my collection after picking up Marie Claire and I’ve been using it nearly everyday since. The liner is a soft kohl which blends very easily to give a softer line. I love the grey shade which is a lot easier to wear than a harsh black.

7. Jane Iredale Pressed Mineral Foundation: This is  little sheerer than my Bare Mineral foundation so I’ve been wearing it as my everyday foundation. It doesn’t give a heavy coverage, it just enhances my skin and gives me a lovely glow.

8. Accessorize Blusher in Quiver: My newest addition to my Accessorize collection of blushers. This appears as though it has an almost lilac edge in the pan but is more a subtle pink glow when applied. The cool undertones perfectly suit my pale skin.

I’ve done swatches of a lot of these before but the top line from left: Accessorize Quiver blusher, Poisetint, NYX Iced Mocha pencil, Inika eyeliner in graphite and lanolips. Bottom line from left is Bourjois eyeshadow and MAC satin taupe eyeshadow.

I must admit I’m quite impressed with myself for being to narrow to down my favourites to just eight products. Maybe it means I should look at my vast collection and finally start having a clear out!

My Collection of Accessorize Blushers

As I’m now amassing quite a few Accessorize blushers I thought I would do a little comparison post of the blusher’s from the range which I own. I have a couple I picked up last winter and then two more I picked up recently from their new collection.

Top from left: Starlet and Pretty Pink, Bottom from left: Scandal and Quiver

I’ve managed to acquire 4 of the blushers so far and I’d be very tempted to pick up more. I’ve seen lots of posts comparing them to the MAC MSF blushers and the quality and pigmentation of the Accessorize range is amazing.

Swatches from left: Starlet, Pretty Pink, Scandal and Quiver

My favourite at the minute is Quiver which is a murky purple shade with a lilac edge. I’ve also been favouring scandal which gives a warmer summer glow though now I’ve dug out my older two blushers I think I’ll definitely be using these a bit more again. All the blushers are available from Accessorize for £5.

Accessorize Summer 2011 Collection

Picking up an Accessorize blusher the other week reminded me of just how much I love their makeup so I couldn’t resist going back to Superdrug to pick up a few more items from the new Summer 2011 range.

I’ve picked up a bronzer in Bondi, blusher in Scandal and eyeshadow in Maia. I had originally just gone in for another blusher but couldn’t resist trying a new bronzer and the duo eyeshadow just look like such a good combination of colours.

From the left: Two swatches of Bondi bronzer, Scandal blusher, Maia eyeshadow

The bronzer looks great on my pale skin tone as the two shades let me to build up a more natural colour. The palest shade on the left I can use almost as a highlighter whilst the darker shade on the right with a shimmer vein running through the pan gives me a healthy sun kissed glow.

The blusher is one of my most favourite from the Accessorize range and even though it looks quite a dark dusky pink in the pan I think when applied it is more a coral pink. It’s the sort of blush that looks perfect on pale skin in the summer as it has a warmer edge.

The eyeshadow is such an easy little product to use as the white shade gives an iridescent shimmer for a base colour whilst the green colour can be used in the crease or all over the lid to give a stronger colour. The green has bronze swirls running through the pan which helps to give an almost duochrome finish.

I really love the colours and the quality in the Accessorize range plus the price means you can splash out on quit3e a few items! The bronzer is £6, the blusher £5 and and the eyeshadow duo’s are £4.50.

Accessorize Baked Blusher in Quiver

Posted by Laura | Blusher,Face,Swatches | Friday 1 July 2011 8:00 am

I bought a lot from the Accessorize makeup range last winter when it first launched so I was very excited when I popped into Superdrug and noticed there are some new additions to the range for summer 2011. I was very restrained and only picked up this blusher as I had picked up a few other items from other ranges however I’m now desperate to go back and pick up some more things!

This is one of the baked blushers in a shade called quiver. It’s a dusky pink with swirls of brighter pink running through the pan. I love pink blushers as they suit my pale skin however I’m now tempted to pick up scandal which a more coral/pink shade which would work in this summery weather.

When swatched I think quiver had almost a lilac edge to it however it still looks very flattering on my skin tone. The finish is definitely slightly shimmery though like the precious blushers from the Accessorize range is doesn’t contain any chunks of glitter.

I know a lot of people compare these to MAC’s MSF blushers and I do think the quality of the Accessorize range is very similar. The blusher’s are only £5.50 each so I can definitely justify another little shopping trip!
