John Frieda Go Blonder
Over the last few weeks, I have been using the new John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo and Conditioner, in the hope that I could achieve a sun-kissed look without the use of ammonia. The shampoo and conditioner both contain citrus extract and chamomile and are peroxide-free, so they are gentle enough for daily use.
The shampoo lathered up nicely and had a great summery, fresh scent, which I really liked. The conditioner sunk in well and seemed highly moisturising. However, I have to say that I was disappointed to find that my hair was not noticeably lighter. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and continued to use the shampoo and conditioner for the next four to five consecutive washes. Despite leaving the shampoo in for ten minutes at a time, my hair colour has not changed.
I don’t think that it lives up to the hype of being a lightening shampoo, which is a shame because I really wanted it to work! However, I think that it would probably be a good product to use to maintain the existing colour of your hair.
