John Frieda Go Blonder

JFC_SB_GoBlonder_familyOver the last few weeks, I have been using the new John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo and Conditioner, in the hope that I could achieve a sun-kissed look without the use of ammonia. The shampoo and conditioner both contain citrus extract and chamomile and are peroxide-free, so they are gentle enough for daily use.

The shampoo lathered up nicely and had a great summery, fresh scent, which I really liked. The conditioner sunk in well and seemed highly moisturising. However, I have to say that I was disappointed to find that my hair was not noticeably lighter. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and continued to use the shampoo and conditioner for the next four to five consecutive washes. Despite leaving the shampoo in for ten minutes at a time, my hair colour has not changed.

I don’t think that it lives up to the hype of being a lightening shampoo, which is a shame because I really wanted it to work! However, I think that it would probably be a good product to use to maintain the existing colour of your hair.

Heyland & Whittle Soaps

Heyland&whittleHeyland & Whittle make handmade soaps using only natural colourings, a huge range of pure vegetable and essential oils. They have a huge range soaps with a variety of scents and lovely packaging making them perfect for a Mother’s Day gift.

I’ve tried the Olive Grove soap which is the image shown and it comes packaged in a lovely little hat box which does look very posh. It has a almost spicy fragrance which I can’t quite place my finger on however it is a lovely scent that can still smell on your skin after using the soap.
