Palmers Body Butter

palmers body butterPalmers body butters are luxuriously thick and nourishing creams available in four different formulas; cocoa, olive, shea and coconut. The packaging reminds me a lot of the Body Shop body butters and the scents are very similar to their range as well.

The cream is quite a thick cream but is absorbed easily into the skin without leaving any sticky residue. The cocoa body butter smells like chocolate and left my skin feeling lovely and soft. I also love the coconut body butter which left my skin smelling lovely all day.

The other Palmers product which I love is the dark chocolate and peppermint lip butter which reminds me of after eights and is very nourishing for the lips. Its like vaseline in an easy to apply tube (rather than getting your fingers all messy using a tin) with a scent that is good enough to eat! Palmers also claim the peppermint oil in the lip butter naturally freshens your breath – I’m not sure how true that bit is but I would still recommend it!

Vera Wang Glam Princess

glam princessI haven’t had much of an opportunity to write many posts over the Christmas period with a little baby and the usual festive celebrations! So now its January and we have a lot of cold, dark days I’ve been searching for some new products to brighten up the month.

For my first review of the new year I’ve being trying the new fragrance from Vera Wang, Glam Princess. As you will know from my previous posts I’ve always been a fan of the original Princess fragrance and always have a bottle on the go so I couldn’t resist trying this new limited edition version of the fragrance.

Glam Princess has some of the same notes as the original Princess fragrance including guava and vanilla. However this new scent has been updated with red berries, pear, orange blossom, marshmallow and cashmere wood to give a very glam, flirty fragrance. If you’re a fan of the original Princess fragrance I would definitely recommend trying this one.

Pink Beauty Luscious Lip Sheer Lipstick

lippy_1I have found a great little everyday lipstick that is part of the Pink Beauty range available from Lorna Mai. It describes itself as a “luscious lip sheer lipstick” and it certainly is! The lipstick is highly moisturising and glides on smoothly to give a hint of colour and a slightly glossy finish.

I tried the colour called “Abigail”, which is a natural rose-pink that perfectly matches my natural lip colour. If you are a fair like me, I would highly recommend this colour for a natural “no make-up” look.

The packaging is gorgeous too – a combination of pink and black with a vintage feel to it. It would make a lovely present… if you can bear to part with it!

IT Girl Butter by Margarita Bloom

The IT girlThe IT Girl Pink Champagne Buttercreme is similar to the ‘Soap and Glory’ range in packaging, the tub is a touch retro in design, complete with a Bond-esque lady!   The creme is very thick and dense, but amazingly it sinks into the skin quickly without much effort of rubbing in.

Smelling it straight from the pot, it can be a bit overpowering- very sweet,  almost like strawberries and cream, but once rubbed into the skin the smell lessens some what.

I probably wouldn’t want to use it as an all over body moisturiser as the smell could be a bit too much.  Despite the slight negative about the smell, the crème leaves skin feeling silky and velvety, and with the added benefit of almond oil to soften and aloe vera to soothe, it helps keep skin supple.  This would perhaps be better for younger tastes- great for teenagers, but maybe too overpowering for some.

Bionsen Japenese Spa Minerals Deodorant

Bionsen Range(low)This 100% Aluminium Free deodorant is specially designed for sensitive skin, and promises ‘Gentle, long –lasting freshness’ by neutralising the bacteria causing bad odours.  The bottle is compact, and at 100ml would be perfect for travelling- even complying to aircraft restrictions.

The spray is easy to use and dries quite quickly, but most importantly it smells very fresh and natural! I was confident that the fresh scent lasted all day, and even after an active day I noticed the delightful scent was still there.

This would be perfect for anyone who is worried about the numerous chemicals and additives that are so often in modern day deodorants, as it aims to be natural, especially after recent evidence of the ill-effect of large amounts of aluminium in underarm deodorants.
