Lush Christmas Crackers

Lush christmas‘Tis’ the season for new products and Lush have not let us down with their Christmas range. I stopped over at one of their stores today to treat myself to a few pampering products to use before the baby arrives and I couldn’t resist having a good nosey around the Christmas products!

I’m loving the Colour me Christmas gift set shown which looks like a cute little ginger bread house. At only £14.5 its a great bargain and would make a perfect Christmas present. Whilst I couldn’t justify buying the whole gift set for myself I did indulge in a few of the products from the range.

As I probably won’t have much time for long baths after the little one arrives I treated myself to the candy cane bubble bar which smells like a combination of candyfloss and vanilla icing. Almost good enough to eat and it creates loads of bubbles for a perfect bubble bath! I’ve also bought the cinders bath bomb which is also from the Christmas range and smells like a Christmas drink with cinnamon and orange.

Dior Eye Makeup Clutch

diorThe Dior Jazzclub clutch is an all in one palette for the eyes containing everything you need to get that smokey look. I love the idea of the 1930’s style clutch as it looks very glamorous in your make-up collection.

The palette contains various eye shadows including matt, glittery and iridescent shades, a creamy eye liner and an eyebrow powder. All that is need as an extra is some of your favourite mascara!

The clutch  shown in the picture is the ’smocky jazz’ palette which contains more grey and gold colours. The grey and gold shades can be layered to give an elegant smokey look with a hint if sparkle. The white iridescent eye shadow works well to tone down a look if you feel your eyes end up looking too dark.  It is also available as ‘purple jazz’ palette which I love as well as that clutch contains purple and grey shades to give a lovely party look.

Mother To Be Beauty Treatment

spa imageI mentioned in one of my posts a little while ago about some Wahanda beauty vouchers that I had been given and was saving to use when I started my maternity leave. As I’m now nearly at the end of my pregnancy I finally decided to treat myself the other week to an afternoon of pampering with a ‘mothers to be be’ indulgence package  at Fairways Beauty.

I would definitely recommend an afternoon of pampering to any other lady nearing the end of her pregnancy as it was exactly what I needed! And I’m sure I won’t get much time for pampering once the little one arrives. The mother to be package indulgence package was a 3 hour experience consisting of a Decleor facial, sculptural firming for the tummy to prevent stretch marks, Jessica prescriptive manicure and Zen spa pedicure. In other words its pampering from head to toe!

The package was perfect and left me feeling very refreshed. My skin was glowing afterwards and felt a lot smoother. The sculptural firming for the tummy can be used as a course of treatments during pregnancy to prevent any stretch marks but it was still nice as a one off treatment to soothe the bump. I think it does soften the skin as my husband keeps telling me how soft my tummy feels!

Reaching your feet near the end of pregnancy isn’t the easiest thing ever so for many women painting your own toe nails is out of the question. I also find that I get aching feet so with the zen spa pedicure you get a foot massage along with your pedicure which is what every pregnant lady needs. The pedicure is lasting well and I’m hoping that I won’t need to re-do my toenails until baby arrives as then I’ll be able to reach them more easily! And what package wouldn’t be complete without a manicure to make you feel like a princess. I would definitely recommend Fairways Beauty to all the other expectant mum’s out for a real treat before the little one arrives.

No 7 Mineral Makeup

no 7 mineral makeupI was in Boots this weekend looking for some new blusher and have  just discovered that No 7 have started doing there own range of mineral makeup. Perfect timing considering they are also giving out vouchers to save £5 off anything from the No 7 range!

I’ve bought the loose powder blusher from the mineral makeup range in pink. I love a blusher that gives a very girly pink colour to the cheek with a touch of shimmer. This blusher gives a very light colour that can be built up gradually to give a more intense shade.

For a girl with very  pale skin this is a lovely shade to give a english rose look. The mineral range currently only includes blusher and loose powder foundation but hopefully they’ll add some more products to their range soon!

Love Etc… from The Body Shop

Love Etc...Love Etc… is the brand new fragrance launched recently by The Body Shop. I’d been meaning to stop by the shop to try it for a while and today I finally got the chance now that I’m a lady of leisure on maternity leave. Well until the little one arrives at least!

Love Etc… is a very pretty and feminine fragrance which has top notes of pear, bergamot, jasmine and lily of the valley which gives the initial fragrance which is slightly floral but with a sweet undertone. This quickly mellows to allow the base notes of vanilla, sandalwood and musk to show through which leaves a very sweet, feminine fragrance which lingers on the skin for the rest of the day.

I really like this fragrance  as it reminds me of some of my other perfumes such as Princess by Vera Wang and Angel by Thierry Mugler. Being from The Body Shop it is fab value for an eau de parfum and the fragrance is still strong at the end of the day.

On a different note I was also very interested to discover that The Body Shop has its own baby range, Buriti Baby which is an all natural paediatrician approved range of products designed especially for your little one’s sensitive skin. I’ve been given a couple of samples of the Buriti Baby Body Butter which is meant to provide gentle moisturisation for wriggly babies. I’ll let you know what its like when the little one finally arrives!
