Wahanda Gift Vouchers

Posted by Laura | Beauty Tips, Toiletries | Friday 28 August 2009 9:00 am

wahandaI’m very excited to have been given a Wahanda gift voucher which is a  spa voucher, beauty salon voucher, fitness and treatment voucher or all in one beauty package. It is accepted at a huge number of locations around the country.

Its the perfect present as it allows the recipient to choose whether they would like a day spa experience, spa breaks, massages, facials, beauty treatments or even fitness experiences such as yoga. I would be quite  tempted to go to one of the day spas however being pregnant I can’t really make full use of all the day spa facilities such as sauna’s or whirlpools.

I think instead I’m going to go for one of the beauty treatment experiences as many of the venues do packages especially for mum’s to be which include facials, bump massages, manicures and pedicures. Perfect for when I finish work and want some pampering just before the baby is due. I’ll keep you all posted as to what the package and venue is like!

Compagnie De Provence

compagnie_de_provence_rose_scented_hand_soap_edited-1Compagnie De Provence Extra Pur collection is a range of products  for the bath or body fragranced with scents from the famous region of France. The range of scents includes wild rose, orange, cherry blossom, fig, olive and lavender.

The cherry blossom body lotion I’ve tried really does smell good enough to eat! If you are a cherry lover or a fan of fruity scented products I would definately recommend this one. The body lotion makes your skin feel very soft and the cherry fragrance can even be smelt on your skin at the end of the day.

The fig hand cream contains shea butter and olive oil to nourih dry hands and cuticles. I find that my hands and nails can look  very dry sometimes especially after having to use the alcohol hand gel at work (hospital) so it’s very important to have a good hand cream. This one also has a lovely scent that definately reminds me of figs and does make your hands feel very moisturised.

I haven’t tried any of the foam baths or shower gels however I’m sure they will all have the same lovely fragrance.  Compagnie De Provence products also come in very minimalistic and stylish packaging which looks very elegant in any bathroom!

The Moor Spa Facial

Posted by Laura | Beauty Tips, Toiletries | Sunday 23 August 2009 6:16 pm

moor-spaAs I’m now nearly 7 months pregnant I’ve been feeling in need of some pampering and beauty treatments! I’ve been trying some of the products from Moor Spa Range. The products from Moor contain natural ingredients including moor water which is taken from therapeutic lowland moors and contains a wealth of herbs, minerals and vitamins. Moor makes a range of products which can be used every day for all your skin care needs or can be used as part of a spa facial routine.

The products from Moor come complete with a set of instructions on how to carry out the facial routine which does wonders for your skin when used once a week (or more depending on how much time you have!). I’ve got quite a few of their products so I’ve been giving myself my own mini facial to help ensure my skin looks lovely.

I’ve been using the vibrant cleanser which has a very fresh and natural scent. It removes all traces of make up from your skin without making your skin feel dry or tight. Your skin feels clean and refreshed. This can then be followed by the revitalizing exfoliator which contains tiny beads in a mositurising gel to remove any traces of dry, dull skin.

My husbands favourite part is the refining facial mask that follows as its a very dark black coloured mask which you leave on for a few minutes. He thought this looked pretty funny as I wandered around the house in it and insisted on trying to take my picture! The face mask only needs to be left on for a few minutes after which you can feel you skin tingling slightly which is as the mask draws out any impurities leaving your skin looking very clear.

I have a couple of booster products which can be applied after the mask to enhance your usual skin care regime. The soothing eye gel feels cooling and refreshing on the delicate areas of your eyes. As it’s gel based, it doesn’t feel heavy and it is also meant to help protect against wrinkles and ageing. It also helps to reduce any puffiness or redness as its packed with calming agents. The boosting repair mosituriser also feels like a gel and is used as part of the facial routine before applying a moisturiser. As a booster it acts deep in the skin to prevent water loss, ensuring your skin is lovely and soft! I finished off my spa style facial with the active moisturiser, a deeply nourishing moisturiser which protects your skin from the environment.

After trying the Moor Spa Facial Routine my skin definately looked brighter and clearer than before and did feel a lot smoother. I’ve had a professional facial before and if you use the Moor products as part of a facial routine I think it definately achieves the results you would expect from a professional facial. I will definately be trying to use these products at least once a week as I was so pleased with the results they gave!

Lily Lolo Mineral Cosmetics

Posted by Laura | Beauty Tips, Makeup Tips | Thursday 20 August 2009 7:41 pm

lily-lolo-2Lily Lolo is a new range of mineral cosmetics which are free from harsh chemicals and dyes found in most traditional make up. Mineral make up is becoming increasingly popular as it is actually good for your skin and won’t clog up your pores like traditional make up. Mineral make up can be built up in layers to achieve a natural, flawless finish and some of the products also contain sun protection.

I’ve tried the Lily Lolo eyeshadows of which I particularly like the indigo colour. This is a very deep purply, blue colour which can be built up gradually to achieve a very intense colour. They remind me a lot of the colours from the Bourjois range as they all have a slight shimmer. The eyeshadows come loose in a little pot and are very easy to blend allowing you to achieve as deep a colour as you like perfect for both day and night time looks.
