Handbags come in so many different shapes and sizes, that one is simply never enough!  As any girl who loves Bags knows, it can sometimes be a nightmare to get everything to quite fit!  Sometimes, something’s got to give, and it can be a hard choice to decide what stays.  The balance can be hard to find, and it can sometimes be tempting to carry too many things for ‘just in case’ scenarios, which can leave you feeling like Mary Poppins when rummaging through, not to mention cause some serious arm ache!  Obviously, you may need more or less items, depending on individual needs, but below are the basic items that a girl should stash in her bag, leaving her ready to face what life brings!

Medication:
If you are likely to need medication, then take it with you! Especially things such as inhalers for asthmatics, or insulin for diabetics.  It could save your life, and that’s why this is definitely one essential that you can’t afford to leave without!  Also, it may be an idea to take a strip of painkillers, for when a headache is mounting.

Beauty items- Only the essential!:
Sometimes it can be easy to end up with an endless supply of lipsticks and makeup in your bag.  In reality, the amount of makeup you will need to ‘touch up’ your appearance probably wont justify the many tubes and containers of makeup you stash in your bag.  Keep it light, and go for makeup that will work at any time of the day- from office to evening.  For example, a lightly tinted lip balm and pressed powder on sheets will do instead of three shades of lippy and concealer and a tub of pressed powder with brushes.  Other items to consider could be a spare hair band if you have longer hair and refreshing or deodorising wipes- especially good for long hot days stuck at work, or sticky clubs.

Scent:
Everyone loves to feel beautiful, and there is nothing quite like your favourite scent to turn heads and give you confidence.  Instead of over- spraying in the morning, which can be very over powering, try to apply a small amount a few times a day, to ensure you smell gorgeous all the time.  A perfume atomiser is ideal for this.  Small, sleek and ultra durable, it will provide you with a fine mist of whichever perfume you decide to use, without the risk of breaking or leaking.

Mirror:
Whether its to check if you have any rocket from your sandwich at lunch, or to check up on your make up in a bar, sometimes a mirror is an essential must have! All too often in clubs and bars, the queue to the mirrors is as long as the queue to the toilets themselves! Beat the jostle and keep a small compact in your bag, ready to whip out when needs be.  Small and sleek, they often have one ‘true image’ mirror and a magnifying mirror, which can be ultra handy for checking eye makeup in particular.

Small manicure set:
A compact three or 5 piece manicure set will last a lifetime, and is perfect for when a nail becomes snagged.  A manicure set will have a durable nail file for minor snags, and usually at least nail clippers or scissors for when a larger break occurs, so it can be trimmed before it rips more, becoming painful!

Misc:
Other common sense items to have include a small pen, breath mints and a tissue.  And that will leave you prepared for anything!
